Writing 2: Clothing Store

Clothing Store
When someone walks into a clothing store, she has many departments to chose from like the men’s department and the kids department and as well as the women’s department. It has been a big dream of mine to open my own clothing store. The store would be called B’s fashion, and I would have every department in a place that is convenient for the customers to shop. For example the woman’s department it would be in the very back, because they would have to pass the kid’s department, and the men’s department to get there. Most of the time women always shop for their husbands and they shop for their kids. The kids department would be in the middle and the men at the front because they really don’t like to shop; their wives do it for them.
The women’s department will have two sides, one for the plus sizes 20-24, and the other side would be for the smaller sizes 13-18. I would also have floor associate modeling some of the top clothes to get more people to buy them. Also I would have some mannequins around, just to show off some of the merchandise that many people have came in and purchase, and which that would made it the top seller. So more people would come in and buy the item.
The men’s department will be in the front because men don’t really like to shop. Instead of having to run all over the store, looking for a certain piece of clothing, they would be able to come in, and go get what they were looking for, without having to stay in the store for hours. In the men’s department, I would have some mannequins, but not a floor assistant because some men don’t really care about the name of the fashion, as long as it looks good.
The kids department is going to be the biggest department because it had sections for the babies and a section for the junior and missies: that’s why it is the biggest part in the store. This department, it would be very colorful and fun, because it’s the kids section and nothing says fun like a lot of colors. The baby section would be in the front because it’s not hard to find baby clothes, because they are babies and in my store I would have the outfits already together just to save the mommys some time. I would also have the babies sleepers set out in good view so mommies wouldn’t have to run all over the store looking for them. The baby section is not only for the babies but for the toddler’s too, and I would have that section set up just like the baby section.
Now for the junior and missies, it is still in the section with baby and toddler clothes, but in a different area because it is also very big, in the junior section that section is also for the boys so I would have that set up with a cool look, not to girly because boys don’t like that. I don’t think I would have any mannequins because mother’ usually know what they want their son to wear. For the missies section I would have that it set up with a lot of flowers and girly things because girls like that. Now when it come to the girls manikins are important, because some girls are really picky, and they think their mother’ pick out ugly clothes, so by having mannequins it helps the mothers figure out what’s cute and what’s not cute.
Walking into a clothing store she usually has many problems finding what she wants. When you have the store set up in different departments it shouldn’t be that hard to find what you are looking for, because the men has their own section, the kids have their own, and the women have their own section. When the owner of a clothing store has the departments separated there really shouldn’t be a problem finding what you want… unless you are a very picky person

ELAALRL2: The student identifies, analyzes, and applies knowledge of theme in a work of American literature and provides evidence from the work to support understanding.

ELAALRL3: The student deepens understanding of literary works by relating them to their contemporary context or historical background, as well as to works from other time periods.

Transcendentalists:

Self Reliance :

I disagree with Emerson because he says,"Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of everyone of its members," and I believe that community is important for progress. You can't make it in the world alone, and Emerson argues that being Self reliant is how you succeed.

In Self Reliance Emerson states that " nothing is at last sacred but the intergrity of our own mind", which embodies the Transcendentalist theory which devalues organized religion, government, and encourages people to be themselves, and do good things.

Nature:

Nature is always there and Emerson thinks that we take it for granted. Emerson was writing during the Industrial Revolution when machinery and urbanization was becoming more popular. During the time when people were concerned with their properties and possessions," Miller owns this field, Locke that, and Manning the woodland beyond. But none of them owns the landscape."Emerson encourages his comtemporaries to take a step back and look at the stars, mountains and reflect on life alone.

Emerson thinks that it is his responsibility as a poet to take ownership of the landscape. In order for him to do that he must transcend through god and become one with heaven and earth. Emerson concludes that man must understand that " that the power to produce this delight does not reside in nature, but in man , or in a harmony of both." Meaning that nature is always present and humans should respect it. when that relationship has been established between nature and humanity one has reached transcendence.

WRITING 1

**BAKING**
Baking is a very fun thing to do. I have been baking every since I was nine years old, and when I ‘m baking I feel at one with myself, because all the things I have on my mind are out in the open. When I bake it is so many different types of smells. Sometime when I bake, I would sit in the kitchen and smell whatever it is I’m cooking, because it smells so good. There are many other reasons why baking is fun. For example like baking is easier than people think, because it is cheaper than buying some of the baked goods in the store. Another reason is that you can bond with some one you love, and how many compliments and you can get when you bake for someone who’s eaten something you have baked.

People think baking is a very hard thing to do when it’s not. They just have to know how to follow directions, but when they are baking they can not be in such a hurry with it. Baking takes time and patience if you want to come out with the best results, but if you are in a hurry with baking, you will end up forgetting to put in an Ingredient, forget to turn the oven on so it can be getting hot, or you could put in too much of an ingredient. Then you will end up with a big mess and could become very upset with the outcome of the cake, brownies or cookies that you were baking. Also when you are baking for yourself or someone else it’s cheaper to do it yourself, than to go get whatever you want made. Sometimes when you get these things made for the cake they can charge you for getting some type of design for the cake. When you are making your own cake all you need it the cake mix, eggs, milk and oil. Then you can go home, make your cake, and not spend a lot of money.

Baking is also a very fun thing to do with a loved one. When you bake with a loved one, you are having a good time with that person, and you could also learn something new about them that you never knew before. For example you could learn something about yourself that you did when you were a baby. When you bake with a loved one, you are getting closer to that person because you will laugh with them or cry with them. When you bake with someone who bakes as much as you do, you can also learn new things about how to bake. Sometimes I bake with my grandmother because she taught me everything I know. I love when we bake together because we have so much fun, and we get to talk about a lot of things that we don’t talk about when we are in our rooms. When I bake with my grandmother, I learn new things about baking. I am a great cook and baker but, I can always use my grandmother’s help because she has been baking longer then I have.
Finally, when you bake something for someone, they will say, “ you did a very good job,” or “that was great -- it tasted wonderful,” or “you should think about going into the cooking field -- you would be great at it”. Then they will tell someone else to try it. Sometimes people pay you for baking the things they want you to bake. Getting compliments on your cooking makes you feel good about what you did, and makes you want to cook more. That’s how I figured out what I really wanted to go to school to do.

I have given you four great reason why baking is a very great thing to do because it is easier then you think, it is also cheaper, and you can bond with someone in the family and you can also get paid for doing it. These four great reason on baking, I really enjoy baking, I really encourage you try to bake; you never know maybe you will end up liking it and you could really make some money off of baking for some people you know.

Early American Literature

(number 1)
ELAALRL3

The student deepens understanding of literary works by relating them to their contemporary context or historical background, as well as to works from other time periods

This standard to me is focusing on American literture, from the past and the present showing in many ways that some things have not changed since the past and the things that have been left in the past are coming back to the present. In this Standard they you notice that we are reading something that is contemporary is also reflecting on the past they want you to be able to notice that, not much has changed since then.

(Number 2)

Prayer To Pachacamac

O Pachacamac!

Thou who has existed from the beginning,Thou who shall exist until the end, powerful but merciful,

Who didst create man by saying,"Let man be

,"Who defends us from evil,

and preserves our life and our health,

art Thou in the sky or upon the earth?

In the clouds or in the deeps?

Hear the voice of him who implores

Thee,

and grant him his petitions.

Give us life everlasting, preserve us, and accept this our sacrifice

(number 3)

This prayer it too one of the many gods the native americans believed, they are saying that this isnt the god that created man by saying. this god is powerful but merciful, who also defended them from evil .

(Number 4)

Work Period:

Purtians:

There is nothing between you and hell but air.

Didnt think god died for everyone

Believed slected few went to heaven

Native American

Very big on god

more then one god

said god could possibly be the sun and the moon

Also worshiped god by singing and dancing

The Purtians and the Native Americans see god in a very different way, the Purtains though they believed that they were chosen by god for a special purpose thought they must live every moment in a god fearing manner and from the sermon Sinners in the hand of an anrgy god they said there is nothing between you and hell but air which i think they are trying to say that no matter what you do in a manner way you will still go to hell because only slected few went to heaven. The Native Americans on the other hand were very big on but they also thought that it was more then one god s, they had a different god for every tribe. some of their gods are Pachacamcac, Viracocha, chinook and also nelived in Mountains Sprits. They also worshiped god by singing and dancing i mean it's not like the purtians didint do it but it was mention about the native americans and not the purtains. therefore puttting these two cultures together would not be a good idea because they have very different beliefs on religion and puttting them two cultures together that wold only cause conflict.

Evidence:

Native American:

The pray above was a prayer to one of the gods call Pachacamc this is one of the gods that didnt create man by saying "let man be". this god was power but merciful. one of the the examples on how the native american and the Purtians had very differrent beliefs on religion was that the navtive american belived in more then one god, and the prayer above proved that they really do belived in more then one god.

Purtians:

There is nothing between you and hell but air

(number 5)

ELAALRL5 The student understands and acquires new vocabulary and uses it correctly in reading and writing

Purtians- a culture that has a very different life styles and as well as religion and beliefs

Deism- a type of religion that has a supreme god

Original Sin- The sin of adam and eve

Sinners in the hand of an angry god- a sermon by Jonathan

Declaration of independence- A document stating our independence

The Rationalist had a very different apporach on god from the purtains, a man name Ben Franklin flew a kite in a storm to get an explanation on what was lighting, not knowing that the purtains notion that god was responsible for those type of them things and that they were not to invole themsleves in those things. The Rationalist in American wanted to to believed that anything could be understood through science while the purtains believed that god was the one with all the understanding and thought that was an insult to god because they belived humans had no buisness interfearing with god's work. While improvement was important to the purtains they ask for god for help while the Rationalist took a scientific approach to self improvement. In this society today i haven't really seen any of this then again i have, i have seen where some people have more and better things then others because of the things other people do, some people have better jobs then others and other people know how to mangage there money better then some. I see this more then i see anything today.

Bejamin Franklin:In the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin he said" I wished to live without committing any fault at any time; I would conquer all that either natural inclination, custom, or company might lead me into. As i knew, or thought i knew, what was right and wrong. I did not see why I might not always do the one and avoid the other. But i soon found i had undertaken a task of more diffculty then i imagined".In this example Ben was saying that when he flew the kite in the storm, he didnt know that he was involving hisself with the nature of god, he we was trying toget an explanation of where lighting came from. he wish to improve in this by taking a scientific apporach.

1. stop talking so much- I like to talk but sometimes I get behind in my work talking too much
2. stop spending so much money- I spend to much money on unnecessary things
3. not missing many days of school- I stay sick a lot
4. stop speaking my mind- one day my mouth will get me in trouble
5. my attitude- sometime my attitude can be rude
6. being nicer to people- I can be mean at times
7. stop eating so many sweets- I need to cut back on the sweets
8. stop arguing with my grandmother- when we argue it hurts me
9. spend more time with my family- I spend most of my time with my boyfriend

These 9 things are the virtues i really need to improve on , i really can't think of 13 virtures if i could im sure they wouldnt be as big as these 9 virtues. these 9 virtures have been my big problems latley i just want to improve on these i have my own way of doing these virtures to and i hope to improve on them in about 3 months.
